Founder and president of AJ Insurance Services Ltd., AJ started the company in 1991 after a successful 14 years in the industry, being a consistent member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Having graduated from Mapua University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, he realized his calling in the insurance industry early and has not looked back, raising himself to become one of the leading managers in the insurance industry today.

Josh was a manager in the service industry for over ten years before he joined his father, AJ, as a broker in 2004. He was promoted as the agency’s Training Coordinator in 2007. He oversees the recruitment and training of the agency. As a liaison between all the different life carriers, Josh sees to it that the new agents get the proper training. Josh has brought to AJ Insurance his strong interpersonal skills and has been partly responsible for the increase of the agency’s manpower.

Enrico, or Rico for short, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of the East. He was recruited by New York Life in 1993 and later joined AJ Insurance Services in 1997. He was a Rookie Round Table, VIP and 10-A-Month member of Canada Life for many years. As a sales manager, Rico continues to set the activity standards high in the agency by consistently producing not less than ten applications a month.

A graduate of Computer Programming from Red River Community College, Lito has been in the insurance business for over 14 years. In 1993 he succeeded as the No. 1 agent of a Sunlife branch. Seeking further success, Lito joined the AJ Insurance team in 2002 and was subsequently promoted to Sales Manager in 2005. Lito has been instrumental in the continuous growth of the company’s licensed brokers through his intensive in-house LLQP reviews.

Starting her life in Canada as a live-in nanny in 1993, Marytes Flores knew that this will not be her career for the rest of her life. When her husband died in 2005, she was left with a small amount of death claim to support her three young kids. Motivated by her desire to keep families from experiencing what she has experienced as a widow, she decided to pursue a career as an Insurance Broker and was licensed in 2006. In August 2008, she decided to quit her job as a Pre-board Screener for YVR and has never looked back since. With a degree in Elementary Education at Divine Word College of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines; she now uses her passion for teaching to educate her clients on the importance of life insurance, in addition to her personal experience as an inspiration. A consistent Elite Conference Qualifier, Marytes was promoted as a Sales Manager in 2012 and has now been expanding a strong team of advisors in Victoria.

Power couple Mike and Sheila Carino started their insurance career in 2009 as AJ Insurance’s first couple to obtain their licenses in the same year. Prior to immigrating to Canada, both used to work with RCBC – the fourth largest banking institution in the Philippines. They used their background in corporate finance, Mike as a Corporate Banking Officer and Sheila as an International Trade CSR, to grow their business and to mentor their fellow advisors in the hopes of building their own team of successful brokers. AJ Insurance has been their first choice of MGA because of its familial culture, the sense of belongingness that they have immediately felt during the Business Orientation Presentation. Now incorporated as Care Insurance and Wealth Professionals, the Carinos has proven care for their clients and passion to their work to improve their clients’ financial situations. They have been promoted as managers in 2018 and has been continuously qualifying to AJ’s Elite Conferences since 2014.

Alsen David is the youngest Filipino Sales Manager to-date at AJ Insurance Services Ltd.  Promoted to management level with spouse and co-manager, Loribel Mercado, in 2018, he was inducted into the first batch of Wall of Fame at AJ Insurance in 2017. He is an elite insurance agent and have attended several business conferences including the prestigious MDRT Annual Meetings. Year 2015 marked the first year he was included in the Top 10 Agents at AJ Insurance. A consistent producer in the insurance industry from 2012, Alsen is dedicated in helping his fellow immigrant “kababayans” with insurance and investments planning. Alsen is a proud alumnus of the University of the Philippines with degrees in Bachelor of Arts Major in Economics and Master of Business Management. He has previously worked in the banking industry and management sector in South East Asia.

Alsen is actively involved with the recruitment process at AJ Insurance and spends time on training and mentoring his peers at the Monday Task Force and Business Training Course within the agency. He is also a resource speaker and a motivator in his chosen career. Seeing his friends and colleagues achieved success in Canada is his satisfaction.

Jake has been an insurance and investment advisor since 2012. Throughout his career, he has always placed his client’s needs first. It was his client’s trust and support that made him garner the Rookie of the Year honors in 2013, Elite Conference qualifications, Top Agency Producer and Builder awards, and MDRT distinctions.

Jake aims to serve individuals, families, and business owners by creating a financial plan that is a balance of insurance and investments.
